Disney is offering !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! with profits being donated to MedS hare. While I applaud them for doing that...this portion of the fine print irks me.
Disney will also donate all profits from the sales in the U.S. of Disney’s cloth face masks to Medshare, up to $1 million , now through September 30, 2020.
Emphasis mine. Why have a limit? I assume they believe they will surpass that mark so they will be able to profit off this anyways.
They are selling them for $19.99 for a 4-pack. Assuming they cost less than $5 to make and ship that means they will need to sell a bit less than 67,000 kits to hit $1m in donations. I can see Disney being able to do that easily well before September.
I will say I do think the designs are great. Especially the baby Yoda one and the Hulk one

Considering typical Disney pricing and what I’ve seen other masks sell for, 4/$20 sounds pretty reasonable to me. I’m a huge fan of Roots Canada sweats but their face masks are $22 apiece.

The limit is there because they are full of shit. Why not just use their profits to pay all the workers they furloughed?

It didn’t seem like an outrageous price to me either, especially for Disney.

I see your point about the cap, but that's common. But these are great. Some kids might be weirded out, or even scared about having to wear a mask. As adults we don't think about that, but my 4 or 6 year old might. Pick out your favorite character, and make it fun

Honestly, why even bother at that point? Just donate a million to the charity, and then sell the masks like you would anything else. The profits from the masks thing is just a pointless extra step if you’re going to cap the donation amount.
(sigh) I consider myself to be a huge Disney fan and naturally I want to defend them, but this is just lame. You have plenty of money already, Disney. I don’t believe this is what Walt would’ve wanted.
